DME created polo’s most prestigious tournament – the Triple Crown of Polo. The tournament embodies the quality, style, and culture sponsors seek with global luxury marketing and hosting opportunities. DME teamed with ESPN to create the Triple Crown of Polo lifestyle sports series. It provides luxury brands an opportunity to reach affluent consumers. Tiffany & Co., the founding sponsor of the TCP, kicked off the tournament’s first televised season on ESPN. They hosted a private party at their flagship store in Manhattan and unveiled the TCP Championship Trophy designed and handcrafted by Tiffany & Co.
In its seventh year of a 10-year relationship with ESPN, DME developed the sport of roller hockey. The sport and the players gained marketing credibility when new rules reflected what was happening on the streets and the game's presentation combined the sex appeal of the beach with live music. In 1997, DME and ESPN joined forces to produce the exciting Pro Beach Hockey series. With over 83 hours of programming each season, Pro Beach Hockey was seen in over 140 countries in 20 different languages. DME managed several PBH strategic partnerships, including Samuel Adams, Sony PlayStation, Snapple, Coca-Cola, and Lee Dungarees.
In 1992, DME became the first outside production company to partner with ESPN when they launched the World Roller Hockey League (WRHL). Teaming with ESPN’s then-president Steve Bornstein, the first professional roller hockey organization was staged at Walt Disney World MGM Studios Theme Park through a partnership with ESPN. This partnership became the format for numerous ESPN-backed ventures. Following the league’s first televised season, ESPN and DME merged the WRHL with a second upstart league, Roller Hockey International (RHI). DME introduced Pepsi and Taco Bell to the niche professional sports marketplace through a league-wide million-dollar sponsorship.
DME was the creator and producer of the 1980s GLOW – Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling. A comedy wrestling show, GLOW featured an all-female cast and was hailed as a breakthrough parody of men’s wrestling. DME quickly seized on the fame of the series and sold it to the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. In 2017, Netflix revived interest in this cult classic by launching a 10-episode fictional series entitled, GLOW. The Netflix series proved as popular as the original series and was renewed for a second season that will be distributed in 2018.
